Mini Group is seeking to recruit a dynamic and detail-oriented Compliance Officer on a full-time basis to strengthen our internal control systems and ensure adherence to regulatory and statutory frameworks across all sites.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to support the implementation and monitoring of company-wide compliance programs. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting internal audits, maintaining regulatory records, responding to inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold legal, regulatory, and company policy standards.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring & Implementation

  • Assist in the rollout and monitoring of the organization’s compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure company practices align with legal and regulatory standards including OSHA, NEMA, KEBS, KRA, and Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Track license renewals, regulatory filings, and statutory deadlines to ensure continuous compliance.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and audit trails.
  • Draft compliance reports, policy updates, and communication briefs.
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate responses during audits and inspections.

Internal Checks & Investigations

  • Conduct site visits and internal assessments to monitor compliance standards across departments.
  • Support investigations into incidents of non-compliance and assist in executing corrective actions.

Training & Awareness

  • Collaborate with HR, Safety, Quality, and Production teams to promote a compliance-first culture.
  • Organize and facilitate training and awareness sessions on relevant compliance topics.

Regulatory Engagement

  • Support engagement with regulatory authorities and participate in inspections and follow-ups as required.
  • Stay current on changes in compliance and regulatory requirements affecting the manufacturing and food sectors.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Professional certification in Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit (e.g., CISA, CFE) is an added advantage.
  • 0–2 years of experience in compliance or regulatory roles within the manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards such as ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management) is desirable.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory authorities such as KEBS, DOSHS, NEMA etc

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks in Kenya.
  • Good understanding of food safety and occupational health & safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
