Eleven Degrees consulting, on behalf of an internal client – Mini Bakeries (Nbi) Ltd, wishes to fill the
vacant position of a Human Resources Officer on Fixed Term Contract Basis to be based in
Nairobi/Mombasa/Kisumu Towns.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for ensuring
the effective execution of HR processes, adherence to policies, best practices and promoting a positive
organizational culture.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment

- Interpret and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.

- Manage the entire hiring process, including job postings, screening, interviews, and selection.

- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts.

- Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.

- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.

- Advise and support line managers to manage employee relations issues.

- Oversee and assist with employee communication and feedback through various channels.
3. HR Policies and Procedures Compliance and Legal Requirements

- Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.

- Communicate HR policies to staff and ensure proper understanding and adherence.

- Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment standards, and relevant regulations.

- Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and industry best practices.

- Prepare and present periodic reports for the human resources department.
4. Human Resource Information Systems

- Maintain and update the Human Resources sections in the Information Systems, company
information, and Intranet sites.

5. Compensation and Benefits

- Participate in administering employee compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.

- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in collaboration with the finance department.
6. Performance Management, Learning and Development

- Support the implementation of performance review systems and processes.

- Guide managers in setting clear performance goals and objectives.

- Monitor and ensure compliance with employee performance processes.

- Coordinate training programs, workshops, and seminars.

- Track the effectiveness of training initiatives.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee performance, training and development records.
- Qualifications:

- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or its equivalent

- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)/ Higher National Diploma is desirable.

- At least three (3) years of experience managing HR processes in a labor-intensive and unionized
environment.
