Eleven Degrees consulting, on behalf of our internal client, Komorock Automobiles and Fabricators Limited, a company in the business of running motor vehicle garage, steel structural fabrication and fleet administration and specifically formed for the purpose of internally serving the Mini Group of companies, wishes to fill the vacant position of a Stocks Quality Control Inspector on Fixed Term Contract Basis to be based in Nairobi.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Workshops, the position holder will be majorly responsible for inspection, conducting tests, documenting findings, reporting findings, ensuring compliance to set quality standards, specifications and regulations both company and industry, monitoring processes, and investigating customer complaints with a view of ensuring the implementation of Quality control processes by recommending corrective actions and offer training and support where and as necessary.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities.
- Bakery & Garage/workshop facilities inspections:
- Conduct audits and prepare for external inspections as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of bakeries machineries, bake ware, civil works and motor vehicles to identify already existing assets defects not reported, for workshop to undertake corrective action plan.
- Inspect bakery facilities and equipment to ensure hygiene, sanitation, and proper food handling practices and review layout sketches.
- Inspect workshop facilities, pickup, equipment, tools & PPEs and processes to ensure safety, environmental, and health practices are adhered with.
- Conduct workshop structural inspections and checks to ensure they are sound and meeting the structural standards.
- Conduct workstation inspections to ensure employees adhere to the correct ergonomic practises to remain healthy & safe.
2. Systems and Processes Testing:
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with industry standards and company protocols.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test both manufacturing and automotive systems and components as applicable.
- Perform durability, functionality, and safety tests to validate product quality and performance using standardized methods.
- Perform routine tests on bakery products, including sensory evaluations and laboratory tests.
- Analyze quality-related customer concerns, identify root causes, and collaborate on solutions to prevent recurrence.
3. Compliance, Standards and improvements:
- Perform a study on Bakery manufacturing and workshops standard operating procedures respectively to ensure they are up to date and are being followed as anticipated.
- Ensure that all activities within the bakery and garage adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant regulations.
- Monitor compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Ensure property and people security by regular checks on security systems and compliance to security protocols by security personnel deployed to the workshop.
- Perform a regular bakery assets inspections to ensure there are no pilferages and undertake periodic bake ware, spares and materials stocktake.
- Verify products meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements by staying updated on quality regulations and
- Identify areas for quality improvement in both bakery and garage operations.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during inspections and production activities to promote a secure workplace for all personnel.
- Collaborate with production and workshop staff to implement quality improvement initiatives.
4. Training and Development:
- Train production staff on quality control procedures and standards.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new quality control techniques.
- Develop and update Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance quality and efficiency.
5. Customer Service:
- Maintain a customer-focused approach to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Raise tickets for all the faults found in the branches for workshop to attend and corrective maintenance.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related problems raised by clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide updates on inspection status and address any concerns or inquiries.
- Ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained by delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
- Investigate complaints and reports of foodborne illnesses related to bakeries, and take appropriate enforcement actions as necessary.
- Develop and enforce effective protocols to optimize inspection processes and enhance product & service quality
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control
- Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors, line managers and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution
- Provide guidance and recommendations to the management and staff on corrective actions to be undertaken so as to offer satisfactory client services
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present quality control reports to management.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required
- Diploma in Quality Assurance or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Engineering/Production) or any other relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process, quality control, production management, automotive systems, mechanical issues & construction issues.
- 3 years’ hands on experience in a quality control role within both bakery and automotive industries.
- Experience in quality management systems (QMS)
- Experience conducting process audits under QMS will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and manuals.
