VACANCY: MARKET DEVELOPER

Eleven Degrees Consulting Ltd, on behalf of an internal client in the business of bakery & confectionery products stationed all over Kenya, wishes to fill the vacant position of Market Developer on Fixed Term Contract Basis to be based in Major Towns  in Kenya (Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru etc).

Job Purpose

Reporting to Regional Manager Sales, this position holder will be majorly responsible for managing distributor and vendor relationships, ensuring efficient product supply to retail outlets, generating and verifying orders, overseeing distributor orders, analyzing market trends, and providing insightful reports. 

Key Duties/ Responsibilities

1. Distributor and Vendor Management

 

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and vendors.

    • Conduct regular visits to distributor depots to monitor inventory, logistics, and service levels.

    • Ensure distributors adhere to company policies and service level agreements (SLAs).     Address and resolve any operational challenges faced by distributors.

2.  Product Supply

 

    • Ensure consistent availability of products across retail outlets.

    • Conduct regular visits to retail stores to monitor stock levels and address supply issues.

    • Collaborate with distributors to optimize supply chain efficiency

3. Order Generation

 

    • Verify and confirm orders with distributors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

    • Coordinate with sales teams and distributors to ensure timely order placement and fulfillment.

    • Monitor order trends and suggest strategies to improve order generation.

4. Distributor Orders Management

 

    • Oversee the end-to-end order management process.

    • Ensure timely processing, dispatch, and delivery of distributor orders.

    • Identify and address any delays or inconsistencies in order fulfillment.

5. Market Analysis

 

    • Track and analyze competitors’ activities, pricing, promotions, and product offerings.

    • Identify market trends, customer preferences, and potential opportunities for growth.

    • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance market positioning and competitive advantage.

6. Reports and Reporting

 

    • Maintain and update sales and distribution reports.

    • Provide weekly and monthly performance reports on distributor sales, order fulfillment, and market trends.

    • Present data-driven insights to management to support strategic decision-making.

Academic and professional Qualifications and experience required 

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

    • Fresh graduates preferred. However, those with At least Six (6) months of experience in sales, marketing, or distributor management, preferably in the FMCG or retail industry will have an added advantage.

    • Strong knowledge of supply chain and distribution processes.

    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret market trends.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.

    • Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and meet tight deadlines.

    •       Additional Information:

    • This role requires frequent travel to distributor depots and retail outlets.

    • Performance will be measured based on distributor performance, order accuracy, and market growth initiatives

    • Flexibility to work in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, or any other parts of Kenya.
