Group of companies, wishes to fill the vacant position of a Stores Intern on a 3 months Fixed Term Contract Basis to be based in Supa Loaf Complex, Kangundo Road.

Position Overview / Role Summary

Reporting to the Workshop Administration Officer, the position holder will undergo on-thejob training while assisting in maintaining accurate records of all inventory and supplies within the facility. They will support smooth operations by efficiently managing data related to incoming and outgoing stock, tools, equipment, and parts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in accurately recording all incoming and outgoing stock transactions in the inventory management system. 
  • Assist in receiving stock, verifying quantities and quality, ensuring accurate documentation, and timely dispatch/storage.
  • Assist in updating stock levels, recording item details, and ensuring data integrity. 
  • Assist in handling queries from internal staff regarding the availability of parts, tools, and supplies. 
  • Support the front desk or reception area in managing parts sales or customer service as needed. 
  • Assist in verifying the quantity and condition of spare parts. 
  • Assist in binning received spare parts in their respective bin locations. 
  • Assist in issuing spare parts physically at the counter as per the issuance note. 
  • Assist in posting issue notes for items used at workstations. 
  • Assist in receiving and reconciling used parts based on the issued parts at the workshop. 
  • Assist in properly labeling items for easy identification and accessibility in the store/workshop. 
  • File important documents such as delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders. 
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and anticipating inventory needs to avoid shortages or overstock situations.

Academic and professional Qualifications and experience required

  • Certificate in purchasing and supplies chain management or its equivalent. 
  • At least 6 months of experience working in a busy workshop or store.
  • Basic understanding of automotive parts and supplies would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in using Microsoft suite applications.
